Korg Pitchclip

You ever play a guitar that went out of tune in the middle of a performance? Not Fun. But the whole “tuning” thing stinks worse because strings, by definition and physics, go out of tune as they’re being played. So how can electronics pick up the slack? By creating the Pitchclip. And hey it doesn’t discriminate either: acoustic or electric, 6 or 12 strings, bass, ukulele, banjo – doesn’t matter. This is about as slick as it gets, short of having it play for you.

Devon Tread 1

Devon claims that their $15,000 Tread 1 watch, a motorized, belt-driven contraption, is “a big, bold sexy declaration of independence from the status quo.” The status quo, in this case, being affordable, legible, sensible timepieces.

If your sense of what defines a good watch is how many moving parts it has, and, better still, how many of those moving parts you can see at any given time, then the Devon Timepieces Tread 1 would be right at home on your wrist.

It’s a totally hand-built, premium-quality masterpiece that packs 510 horsepower and copius slabs of carbon fiber in the body – The asking price is $500,000.
